A Look Back - Pasifika Language Week
Pasifika Language Week
Te Ara Tupu Year 1s were so lucky to have not one, but two of our amazing parents come along to teach us about Samoa through language and traditional songs!
Trevor (Sahara's dad) taught us some phrases, greetings and animal names in Samoan.
Sahara helping her dad Trevor teach us correct pronunciation! |
Chris (Brooklyn's dad) taught us about traditional dress as well as polynesian music and rhythm.
We had so much fun participating and learning about a different culture within our school community.
"Savalivali means go for a walk,
Tautalatala means too much talk.
'Ou te alofa iate 'oe means I love you,
Take it easy fai fai lēmū"
Thank you Trevor and Chris!
